Be the creative force leading community-building and fundraising events for the largest California agricultural land trust
Sacramento, California
California Rangeland Trust is committed to serving the land, people and wildlife by conserving our state’s private working rangelands. We understand the importance of protecting the landscapes where our food is produced, our freshwater flows, and our wildlife thrive. With over 400,000 acres in our conservation portfolio, our community of landowners and supporters is having a significant impact for California and beyond. Furthermore, we greatly value our team of highly qualified and dedicated staff members who work to offer creative conservation solutions and protect the natural resources provided by our vital grasslands. A key part of our success has been an investment in building a sense of community for those drawn to our mission. We show people how, while we are a statewide organization, the work that we’re doing is in their backyard. We are their local land trust, and the people with whom we partner in conservation are their neighbors. Much of this community-building happens at in-person events designed to celebrate each region’s unique relationship to the land. We currently organize these regional gatherings in Orange County, Santa Barbara, Sacramento, and Tehama/Shasta, plus smaller events including ranch tours, donor dinners, and partner celebrations throughout California. The Community Events Specialist serves as a creative force leading our community-building, non-fundraising events. This person will have support from team members across the organization in making connections and developing event content, while also having room to explore new opportunities where we are still establishing relationships. An Events & Development Associate serves as a partner in helping to coordinate logistics with vendors, manage RSVPs, and share responsibilities in executing the events. As we have a wide variety of activities that can fill a calendar, some events may be led by other team members, especially in the first year, for which the Community Events Specialist may serve in a support role.
