Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a SHIPPING TECHNICIAN OH. This hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Manager of Distribution Facilities.
Specific duties and responsibilities of a SHIPPING TECHNICIAN OH include, but are not limited to,
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
  • Accurately package bovine semen orders into designated shipping containers based on distribution requests.
  • Process all shipping paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Update inventory using proprietary software to ensure precise product tracking.
  • Move product to appropriate storage locations following established protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain liquid nitrogen levels in storage tanks and shipping containers.
  • Safely move large inventory tanks as needed.
  • Assemble goblets and prepare canes with identification tags.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Follow all prescribed protocols and safety regulations to ensure product quality and workplace safety.
A Shipping Technician’s standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Work schedules and duties may be adjusted as necessary to meet departmental needs.

Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team as a Dairy Development Data Coordinator. This salaried, exempt position is based at our Plain City, OH facility and reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Genetic Programs and Research.
 
Specific duties and responsibilities of a Dairy Development Data Coordinator include, but are not limited to,
• Serve as an ambassador of Select Sires’ Mission and Core Values, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to animal well-being in every task. 
• Organize and coordinate the activities involved with obtaining the genetic information needed by Select Sires as part of dairy bull acquisition, semen marketing and Select’s internal breeding program.
• Serve as the liaison between the Dairy Sire Development team, our internal IT department, genotyping laboratories, genetic evaluation centers, breed associations and trade associations.
• Understanding and overseeing genetic and genomic evaluation data pipelines in the USA and other key countries is a key part of this effort. 
• Ensuring that genetic information in Select Sires data systems is timely and accurate is a key responsibility. 
• Serve as key backup for these essential operations and, as the content expert, is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving genomic testing or data flow issues.
 
A Dairy Development Data Coordinator's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

  • Perform semen collection using established, safety‑focused protocols, ensuring accuracy, animal care, and proper technique.
  • Handle and work with bulls safely and confidently to appropriately prepare animals for semen collection.
  • Operate company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and farm equipment, following all safety and operational guidelines.
  • Provide daily livestock care, including feeding, watering, cleaning, moving bulls and steers, conducting health tests, administering veterinary treatments, and assisting with hoof trimming and other routine activities.
  Livestock Technicians work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, with shift times varying by facility. Current shift options include:
  • 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
  • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  To support animal care and production needs, holiday and weekend shifts are required on a rotating basis. Specific duties and responsibilities of a Livestock Technician - Driver include, but are not limited to,

  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, customers, and farm staff
  • Cleansing and maintaining building, grounds, and equipment
  • Operate company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and farm equipment
  • Follow all DOT, biosecurity, and company safety regulations
  • Perform routine vehicle and trailer inspections
  • Maintain accurate logs and transport records
  • Perform general livestock care, including feeding, cleaning, moving bulls and steers, health testing, veterinary treatments, and hoof trimming
  • Safely load, transport, and unload cattle in compliance with animal welfare standards
